The Man Behind the Laser: Nicholas Nizer IV, RN BSN CLS on Medicine, Meaning, and Second Chances

As a nurse led tattoo removal clinic in Tampa Bay, our approach has always been guided by one belief: medical expertise and human empathy should never be separated.

That philosophy comes directly from our Managing Partner and Lead Laser Specialist, Nicholas Nizer IV, RN BSN CLS.

With nearly a decade in medicine and a career built around patient advocacy, Nicholas brings a clinical lens to every aspect of our practice; from laser protocols and safety standards to how we communicate with clients who may be navigating deeply personal decisions.

This is the story behind the laser, and the intention behind the clinic.

A Background Rooted in Medicine

Nicholas’s career began long before laser aesthetics. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associate Degree in Nursing, alongside earlier experience in emergency medical services and volunteer firefighting. His clinical background includes years working in high-acuity hospital settings, including cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical care.

In healthcare, he witnessed people at their most vulnerable moments, moments that demanded precision, compassion, and calm under pressure.

That experience shaped how he views care today: not as a transaction, but as a responsibility.

Alongside his nursing credentials, Nicholas pursued advanced laser education and certifications, including laser safety leadership and specialized training in non-ablative tattoo removal. This blend of medical training and laser expertise now forms the foundation of Tampa Bay Tattoo Removal’s clinical standards.

Why Tattoo Removal Became the Mission

After nearly a decade in hospital medicine, Nicholas found himself searching for a different way to help people, one that allowed him to support individuals who were actively choosing change.

Tattoo removal became that intersection.

For many clients, tattoos are not just cosmetic. They can be tied to trauma, incarceration, coercion, or versions of themselves they no longer recognize. Nicholas saw an opportunity to apply his clinical background in a way that still centered safety, empathy, and transformation, while helping people move forward on their own terms. This nurse led tattoo removal approach allows us to treat every client with the same clinical precision and accountability found in hospital-based care.

This work wasn’t about leaving healthcare behind.
It was about continuing it, differently.

Building Tampa Bay Tattoo Removal With Intention

In 2024, Nicholas co-founded Tampa Bay Tattoo Removal with a clear vision: create a clinic that operates with the same rigor as a medical setting, while remaining deeply human and accessible.

From day one, that meant:

  • Investing in advanced, multi-wavelength laser technology capable of treating all skin types and ink colors safely

  • Establishing protocols rooted in medical best practices

  • Ensuring every team member is laser certified; not just the person behind the laser

  • Offering free consultations, transparent pricing, and thorough education before treatment ever begins

Nicholas now oversees all laser operations, technician training, consultations, and long-term growth strategy, ensuring that every client experience reflects the same level of care he once provided at the bedside.

Clinical Excellence Meets Community Impact

While clinical precision is essential, it’s only half of the mission.

One of Nicholas’s proudest accomplishments has been helping establish Tampa Bay Tattoo Removal’s community outreach initiative, providing completely pro bono tattoo removal for individuals impacted by human trafficking or incarceration.

In these cases, tattoo removal is not about aesthetics, it’s about dignity, safety, and opportunity.

Nicholas personally serves as the lead laser specialist for this outreach work, treating clients one-on-one during what is often an emotional and transformative process. Whether removing branding tied to trafficking or helping someone prepare for a job interview without visible stigmatization, the work reflects the heart of the clinic.

This is where laser aesthetics becomes something more.

Growth, Leadership, and Doing Things Differently

Transitioning from structured healthcare into entrepreneurship came with its own challenges.

In nursing, failure is not an option. In business, Nicholas learned that failure is inevitable, and necessary. Building something from the ground up required confronting discomfort, uncertainty, and personal limitations head-on.

Leadership, he discovered, isn’t about always having the right answer. It’s about making decisions with integrity, learning quickly, and staying committed to improvement.

That mindset now drives the clinic’s culture.

The team continually asks:
“What can we do better?”
and then implements it, whether that means adjusting policies, expanding availability, improving follow-up, or simply listening more closely.
